Our Story
I have finally decided to share what I cherish the most of my heritage: my flavors! and what better audience than my adopted country.
My name is Elizabeth Marcano Kennedy; I am originally from Caracas, Venezuela, where Marcano is a rather common last name. I keep it as a tribute to my family and my traditions, and because it preserves the connection with what I cherish the most of my heritage: the flavors!
In 2003, I moved to Ann Arbor, where my sister lived with her family, with the idea of starting a new career. Here I was, looking for a job, and getting ready to start studying again, when I met Mi Vida —my life— Scott. We started dating, and just one year later we got married. Not quite the change I planned, really!
After all these ‘distractions’, I finally found my way back to the kitchen. I started practicing and sharing my traditional recipes and new ideas with my family and friends.
Shortly after, I enhanced my self-taught skills with formal training in baking and pastry confection, at Washtenaw Community College, and now I have finally decided to share my flavors with a greater audience, and what better audience than my adopted hometown.
